Tuija Hyyrynen is a Finnish footballer who plays as a defender for Serie A club Juventus and the Finland national team. She previously played for Umea IK in Sweden’s Damallsvenskan, HJK Helsinki, and Aland United in Finland’s Naisten Liiga. In 2010, Tuija Hyyrynen played in America, with Florida State Seminoles and Pali Blues. She signed for Juventus in 2017.
Tuija Annika Hyyrynen was born on March 10, 1988. She started her career in HJK Helsinki, where stayed by 2009.
In 2010, Tuija Hyyrynen moved to the United States, playing for the college team of Florida State Seminoles and later for the senior team of Pali Blues.
The same year, Tuija Hyyrynen was transferred to the Finnish women’s football club Aland United, where had 4 matches and 4 goals. In 2011, she moved to Umea IK, where stayed for 4 seasons and had 89 matches and 2 goals.
She also played for Fortuna Hjorring, before moving to Juventus Women’s team in 2017, where is still playing. She has 74 matches and goals. With the team, she won the Serie A titles in 2017/2018, 2018/2019, 2019/2020, and 2020/2021, as well as Coppa Italia in 2018/2019 and Supercoppa Italiana in 2019 and 2020.
Since her senior debut against Scotland in September 2007, she has been a member of the Finland women’s national football team. She took part in UEFA Women’s Euro 2009. In June 2013, Tuija Hyyrynen was named in national coach Andree Jeglertz’s Finland squad for UEFA Women’s Euro 2013.
