McCall Zerboni is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for and captains NJ/NY Gotham FC of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). She also played for the US national soccer team.
McCall RaNae Zerboni in born on December 13, 1986, in Camarillo, California, United States. She started playing football at the age of four. She was part of the Olympic Development Program (ODP) in the State and spent her youth career at the teams Southern California Blues (1996–2005), Clemente Wildcats (2000-2002), and Laguna Beach Breakers (2003–2004).
McCall Zerboni attended UCLA and played for the Bruins women’s soccer team from 2005 to 2009. She was named MVP for UCLA’s 2008 season.
McCall Zerboni was chosen as the 47th pick overall in the 2009 WPS Draft by the Los Angeles Sol. She made her professional debut the same year and for the team Los Angeles Sol she had 10 matches.
In 2010, McCall Zerboni was transferred to Atlanta Beat, where had 20 appearances.
A year later, she moved to Western New York Flash, where stayed for three seasons and was the captain of the team. Totally she had 46 matches and 4 goals.
The Portland Thorns FC acquired McCall Zerboni in trade alongside Kathryn Williamson in exchange for midfielder Amber Brooks on November 6, 2014, in an attempt to give the team more available full-time players for the coming 2015 season, during which the Portland Thorns FC anticipated needing to fill in for players called up to the national team to participate in the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
In 2016, McCall Zerboni moved to Boston Breakers, before returning to Western New York Flash. The Western New York Flash won the 2016 NWSL Championship after beating the Washington Spirit in penalties, thus McCall Zerboni won her first most prestigious trophy.
In 2017, Western New York Flash was moved and rebranded to North Carolina Courage. Next two seasons McCall Zerboni stayed in the team and won NWSL Champions in 2018 and 2019, as well as NWSL Shield in 2017, 2018, and 2019. She was selected also for NWSL Best XI in 2017 and 2018.
In 2020, McCall Zerboni played for NJ/NY Gotham FC.
