Julia Simic is a German retired women’s footballer. In her career, she played for Bayern Munich, VfL Wolfsburg, SC Freiburg, West Ham United, and Milan, winning a lot of trophies and awards.
Julia Simic was born on May 14, 1989, in Furth, West Germany. She is of German and Croatian descent. She started playing football in the local club Tuspo Furth and later continue her youth career in DJK Eibach and SV 1873 Nurnburg Sud. She won the UEFA Women’s Under-19 Championship in 2007 with the national team of Germany U19.
Julia Simic turned pro in 2005 after signing a contract with Bayern Munich. For the team, she played 8 seasons (2005–2013) and had 105 appearances and 34 goals. With the team, she won DFB-Pokal in 2011/12 and Bundesliga Cup in 2011.
In 2013, Julia Simic signed with FFC Turbine Potsdam, where played two seasons and had 34 matches and 14 goals, winning DFB-Hallenpokal in 2014.
In 2015, she signed a contract with Women’s Bundesliga champion Wolfsburg for two seasons. She played 24 matches and scored 4 goals. With the team, she became the Bundesliga champion in 2016/17 and won DFB-Pokal in 2014/15, 2015/16, and 2016/17.
Julia Simic signed with SC Freiburg in 2017, where played only one season. She had 18 appearances for the team.
In 2018, Julia Simic moved to England to play for West Ham United. She had 16 matches and scored 2 goals for the team, helping West Ham United to reach the Women’s FA Cup final in 2018/19.
In 2020, she signed with Milan for one season to finish her career.
At the international level, Julia Simic played for several of Germany’s youth teams as well as two games with the senior national team.
