Jessica Silva is a Portuguese football winger or forward who plays for NWSL team Kansas City NWSL and the Portugal women’s national team. She had a half-year spell with Swedish Damallsvenskan club Linkopings FC from July to December 2014 and played for Clube de Albergaria from 2014 until 2016. From 2017 to 2019 she played for Levante UD in Spain.
Jessica Lisandra Manjenje Nogueira Silva, or just Jessica Silva, was born on December 11, 1994, in Vila Nova de Milfontes, Portugal. Considered the most brilliant Portuguese footballer of her generation, she began her career in 2004 with União Recreativa Ferreirense in Anadia. In 2011, she moved to the Clube de Albergaria.
In September 2011, Jessica Silva made her senior debut for the Portugal women’s national football team, in a 1–0 UEFA Women’s Euro 2013 qualifying defeat by Austria in Pombal. She was named by coach Francisco Neto in the final 23-player Portugal squad for UEFA Women’s Euro 2017 in the Netherlands. But in the last training session before departing for the tournament, she was injured. Diana Gomes was called up by Neto as her replacement.
In 2016, she moved to Portugal’s team SC Braga, where had 12 matches and 12 goals. With the team, she became the vice-champion of the Campeonato Nacional Feminino Allianz in 2016-2017, as well as a finalist of the Taça Portugal Futebol Feminino Allianz in 2016-2017.
In 2017, Jessica Silva signed with the Spanish team Levante, where for two seasons had 34 matches and 6 goals. With the team, she was third in the Primera División in 2018-2019.
In 2019, she moved to Olympique Lyonnais, but followed by injuries did not perform well and had only 2 matches and 1 goal.
In 2021, Jessica Silva signed with her current team of Kansas City in the NWSL.
